Yoga for The Resistance

with Sabrina Strings, P.h. D.

Yoga for the Resistance

How can an integrated yoga practice contribute to our self-care? What is the relationship between self-care, and care for others (i.e. spiritual justice)? How can spiritual justice orient us toward dismantling systems of oppression?

Yoga for the Resistance is a two-part workshop series that will discuss the framework  for social action, known as “spiritual justice.” It will offer a space to discuss yoga philosophy, engage in an integrated (asana, pranayama, and meditation) yoga practice, and develop the relationship between yoga and with social justice.

With the new travel bans, the reinforcement of anti-trans urinary segregation, and the step-up of immigration raids, the most vulnerable members of our communities are under attack. In this workshop, we will consider how a yoga practice can help us to remain grounded in the midst of the storm, and provide a framework for social action.

Proceeds will be donated to Black Lives Matter, National Center for Transgender Equality (NCTE), and Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights of Los Angeles (CHIRLA)
